Breaking: Instagram Announces Web Embedding

For the time being, the web embed feature is only available on the desktop web browser, which will now include a new share button right under the comment button and to the right of the posted photo or video.
Clicking on the button will reveal the embed code, which can be copied and pasted onto users’ blogs, websites or any other online source that will accept the code. Additionally, just as with YouTube videos or tweets, other users can embed your photos or videos into their websites or blogs.
Those who have their Instagram accounts set on private have nothing to fear, as this feature only applies to users who share their photos and videos publicly. The embed code will not come up for private accounts.
This news underscores how the Facebook-owned Instagram is working to expand its presence and capabilities outside of the ever-popular mobile application. With Facebook’s recent incorporation of hashtags, it’s easy to see that one of the next steps for Instagram is to adopt the feature on its desktop browser – especially since it’s already been an active feature on the mobile app for a while.
