More and more content is being created and shared everyday. On average, there are 1,500 stories that could appear in one person’s Facebook News Feed, increasing competition for stories to gain exposure. Ultimately, Facebook’s new update to reduce the overlay of promotional Page posts in News Feed means that brands that post promotional content without paying for it will see a significant decrease in organic reach.
Moving forward, brands will be forced to focus more on the quality of content with hope that it can survive with its usual organic reach. Or, decide which posts warrant paid promotion.
If you want your content to be seen, you’ll have to pay for it to be seen.
With a potential reach of 1.3 billion monthly active users, who can be targeted using your data marketing list, Facebook advertising is still one of the best digital social platforms for brands to allocate big budgets towards.
Below are some Page postings tips from Facebook that will help you plan your monthly content schedule.
Being consistent in the quality of posts you create can help users know what kind of messages to expect from you.
Post what will interest people in specific ages, genders or more. To target your posts, select the target icon in the bottom left corner and click “Add Targeting.” You will have the ability to target your post based on gender, interests, location, age, etc. Once you have chosen your target audience and completed your post, click “Post.”
Stay Fresh & Timely
Post fresh and timely content and respond quickly to comments. “
Boost Important Posts
Boost important posts to reach those who matter to you. Select “Boost” for existing or new posts that are “promotional to:
• Increase purchases by taking people to your site with link posts
• Reach more people through important posts like new product or service announcements
• Find new customers by targeting new audiences.”
Publicize Special Discounts and Promotions with Ads
Motivate users to make purchases from your posts by creating Facebook Ads with special discounts and promotions.
Use Key Words & Images
Use high-quality photos that showcase your business and keep your sentences short and instructive.
Review Post Performance
Understand your audience by regularly checking your Page Insights and adjust your targeting accordingly.
Rethink your social strategy and online advertising budgets so that your brand doesn’t get left behind. Remember you have to pay to play and that’s something all marketers are very familiar with.
