To hype up the launch of the all-new redesigned 2013 Honda Accord, Honda will take its efforts to the busy streets of New York City. The company will host a Cash Car event in Times Square on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ben Bailey, the host of the popular game show Cash Cab, will host the event, which will be similar to the show. Contestants will team up to answer questions about the new Accord, with a chance to win cash prizes and be entered into a drawing to win 2013 Accord.
For Honda, the launch of all-new redesigned 2013 Honda Accord is one of the biggest vehicle launches in the company’s history. With the Cash Car event and a new television ad campaign featuring more of a human element than its typical “car-in-open-space” ads, Honda is using different strategies to sell consumers on the ninth generation of the company’s best-selling mid-size vehicle.
In addition to Saturday’s event in Times Square, Honda will host three other Cash Car events throughout the country – each on a Saturday. The next Cash Car event will be in Chicago on Oct. 20 at the Navy Pier, followed by Phoenix on Nov. 3 at the Arizona State Fair. The final event will be in Los Angeles on Nov. 10 at the Hollywood and Highland Complex. Each location is strategic. While there is a lot of foot traffic in those areas, there are also many tourists from all parts of the country and the world at any given moment.
It will definitely be interesting to see what else Honda has in store for new Accord launch. With the car just hitting showrooms and the Holidays and the New Year just around the corner, it’s a good bet that Honda has more coming.
